About Us

Welcome to the International Montessori School Obidos, a nonprofit association founded by parents in the municipality of Obidos in 2024, under the name “Avenidas Aprimoradas” (NIPC n° 517800276). Based on the principles of Montessori education, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive school environment where children from diverse backgrounds can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

As a multilingual community and a bilingual school, we welcome the world and explore it together. In each classroom, one Guide speaks Portuguese while the other speaks English, and we embrace the various languages our community contributes.

School Building

The City of Obidos has granted us the use of the former primary school building in Amoreira for the next ten years. We are delighted to return this historic building to its original purpose and are incredibly grateful for the support of the City of Obidos. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that benefits our community and enriches the educational experience of our students.
