I’m Ben, and together with Andrea, we’re proud parents to two wonderful girls, aged 16 and 6. As we watched our older daughter go through her schooling in Germany, we explored different educational approaches, such as community-organized kindergarten and Montessori primary school.
But it was when we moved to California and discovered The New Village School that everything clicked. We were amazed by how the school embraced diversity and made every student feel at home while learning self-driven. The emphasis on nature was another big draw for us. We saw how important it was for kids to connect with the world around them.
The teachers at The New Village School were truly inspiring, coming from all corners of the globe and bringing their own unique experiences to the classroom. We could see firsthand how the school helped shape our daughter and her friends into confident individuals with strong personalities.
That’s why we’re so excited to bring the principles of Montessori education and the international spirit we experienced in California to our new community in Obidos, Portugal. We believe in creating a school where every child can thrive and reach their full potential in a supportive and diverse environment.
Ben, who has worked with various startups, sees his role as a community manager as vital in bringing people together to make our vision of an International Montessori School in Obidos a reality.
Alongside Laura, our strong partner originally from San Diego, California, now living in Peniche, who has experience establishing schools for big tech companies, we’re thrilled to have her expertise and passion on board as our first Montessori guide.
