We are thrilled to announce that the City of Obidos will graciously provided us with a school building in Amoreira. This historic former primary school will be the new home of the International Montessori School Obidos.
About Our New Home:
- Historic Building: Two classrooms, old wooden floors, and big south-facing windows.
- Spacious Grounds: 2000 sqm of land with outdoor patios, ample grassy areas, and many trees.
- Ideal Location: The school is easily accessible to families from Obidos, Peniche, Bombarral, and Caldas da Rainha. It’s just a few steps from the village and the local playground and a few minutes’ drive from the castle, lagoon, and beaches, making it perfect for our weekly off-campus activities.

We sincerely thank the City of Obidos for their kind support and look forward to a successful partnership. A year ago, we first connected with the Mayor of Obidos, and from the outset, he and his team have been incredibly supportive. They are keen to offer alternative education within the municipality and recognize the growing demand from the local and international community for such a school.
The official public announcement regarding the building was made at the beginning of this month. Today, we are proud to share that we have passed the pre-qualification stage. We have an in-person presentation scheduled for August 1st to finalize the process, which is expected to be just a formality.
We look forward to welcoming you to our open house next month. This will be a great opportunity for you to see our new home and learn more about our school. We can’t wait to meet our future students aged 6-9 years old, starting in September 2024!
